:O

Today we proceeded to dye our eggs for Easter. Out of 48 to start with, only three were broken leaving everyone with a number of 9 eggs to dye as they pleased. Everyone's fingers were soon stained purple and blue, while their paper towels made a job of soaking up all the extra colors. The end result was many beautiful eggs, and a pastel collage of dyes over everything else.
And finally my two favorite eggs. Fred and Ted :D

Spring is in the Air

Today was the long awaited trip to the Botanical Gardens. I have waited to go so i can take some pictures of flowers to draw/paint in the future. Unfortunately when we arrived the park was crowded with with men, women, and little screaming two-year olds. But we took a deep breath and exited the car with the precision of a S.W.A.T team. I tackled bridezillas, families taking portraits, and even innocent bystanders to get the pictures I desired. So here they are, the pictures taken by force, and some serious power-walking:

There's no place like home

After a weekend in Buna, TX I am very relieved to be home again. The weekend was quite eventful with the treasure hunting at my aunt Mary's house, to laying around my nanny's house. My "Aunt Mary" as we call her is really my great great aunt, great aunt to my mom, aunt to my pa and well, you get the picture. She has moved out of her house and we came to help "clean it out" for my uncle to move in. He has three kids and let me tell you, all the china and milk glass she had would have been broken in a time span of about five minutes. So we trooped over for a treasure hunt! Uh, i mean...to help clean. After packing the milk glass, we proceeded to raid the house for valuable objects. My aunt Amy and I had many a disagreement on who got what jewelry. Since all the long chains and pendants are now back in style we found some wonderful things to put away for ourselves. As we were raiding..uh cleaning we hear something happening in the other room. To our dismay, my Pa had found envelopes upon envelopes filled with dollar bills! Why couldn't i have found it instead?!?! He still hasn't counted it all but our guess is around over a thousand dollars! D: Besides missing out on a wad of cash I ended up getting some very good pictures this weekend. Many i hope to draw, paint, etc. So...yay for pictures!!!

Breaking News!

Recently spotted in the Holmes's bomb shelter was the thought to be dead, creature of the black lagoon. The movie not only conveys that the creature died but was never to be seen again. Unfortunatly the creature has been spotted in this very area. The photographer was not able to survive, but we were able to rescue this picture proving it's presence in Fort Worth. Be careful, and remember to lock your doors. Because you never know what's outside.

Ode To Monday

i love to see how my specific views on certain days of the week can be expertly explained by a fat orange cat who likes lasagna. Jim Davis masterfully drew what i feel most of the time. Way to go Jim!

A Yardwork Weekend

These past weekends have been filled with this lovely thing my dad calls yardwork!! And, as his daughters, my father so lovingly calls us his "slaves." We have recently been mucking out, and cleaning our bomb shelter for the future use of an "Interview Room." Why I am actually assisting with this, I do not know. But he has chosen to use a product called "DamTite" to prevent water from leaking through the ceiling. To irritate my mother, my dad has asked me, "how tite are you?" to which i respond, "Damtite!" It received alot of scolding, as expected, and we are banned from saying it again. Here are some preview looks and what the future room (who know what it will be used for) looks like at the present.
Rebecca very much enjoyed mucking out the old rusty tiles and mud. (:

Stay tuned for more interesting(and slightly muddy) updates on *scary background music*
