Twas the night before Christmas,

and all through the house,

not a creature was stirring,

except for a mouse!

Just a little brown mouse,

tiny and small,

who liked to eat cheese

and lived in a wall.

He did not like Christmas,

the gifts they were sappy,

of all the presents

none made him happy

One day before Christmas,
he thought to himself,
what if he asked Santa,
if he needed help?

On the very night
the Santa would come,
the mouse was all ready
to leave his dear home.

Soon he heard a sound,
from the fireplace,
and instead of a fire
a black boot it replaced.

A boot soon a single pair,
with some red cloth,
and a tiny white mouse
with a tiny cough.

The brown mouse squeaked
not out of fright but fury,
how could that mouse be there
all perfect and furry?

When Santa turned round,
the mouse tried to hide
but the white mouse squeaked warning
and made Santa jump surprised.

“Well what is this?”
Santa said with a smile,
the brown mouse sighed,
“Its not worth your while.”

“Come on young fellow,”
Santa said with persistence
the brown mouse embarrassed said,
“I need your assistance.”

He scampered up Santa's arm,
stretched to reach his ear,
and whispered a plan
very clever and dear.

Santa chuckled with cheer,
and stood up with jolly,
“I bet I can help
this plan with no folly.”

Soon after the presents,
where put in their place,
the brown mouse climbed up
to the white mouse's space.

The white mouse turned,
and said with a grin,
“Welcome aboard,
up here your my kin.”

The brown mouse sighed,
and started to cry
“Whats wrong,” said Otis
“Why do you sigh?”

“I have no name.”
said the brown mouse with sadness,
“Well that cannot do
you will be called Agnes.”

“Agnes?”said the brown mouse
“I quite like that name!”
“Then it shall be yours
you can wear it to fame.”

When Santa was finished,
and climbed in the sleigh,
the mice were ready
in every manner and way.

“I'm Agnes!” the mouse cried,
and Santa laughed with glee
“Hello, I'm Santa
and I'm glad your happy.”

Santa pulled on the reins,
the sleigh lifted so light
and the mice squeaked happily
“And to all a good night!”

tis christmas time again!

Today was official cookie baking day in The Holmes Household. The fragrent smell of cookies wafts through the air and delights my nose. My mom asked me to go through the house and take a few photos of our house around christmas time. Here are a few.

The excitment of school being out has worn off and my days are spent wandering around trying to find stuff to do. So far I have drawn some pictures, listened to music, drawn some more, and watched some tv. Thrilling, right? But all is well because this week all my friends get out of school. So my week should start getting interesting soon. Nothing much to say......la li lah.......

*sigh*

As I hear a faint sound in the distance, my mind slowly awakens back into reality. My cellphone alarm is ringing. My feet cry with misery as i walk across the chilled wooden floor to stop the consistent alarm. Turning it off, I sigh and realize I havent studied for history very much, and I havent looked at math yet. Grabbing my clothes, I get dressed quickly to preserve the warmth I still have from bed. Pulling on my shoes, I quietly tiptoe to the bathroom to wash the sleep from my eyes. Looking into the mirror, I am shocked to see my hair darker and straighter than usual. Oh, wait, I actually fixed it last night. But intstead of brown hair, it is black D: Then I remember last night, when I realized my mistake of picking a color that was too dark. I finally rush downstairs to unload the dishwasher before I leave. Stepping out into the brisk morning, I groan and the cold sets in. Getting to school I immediately go to my room and talk to Sharon. The dreaded bell rings and the day has begun. After two finals, my brain cant take it anymore. Then I realize, today is the last day!!!! Im out of school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

o ya, i almost forgot....

I almost forgot!!!!! Today i got the official call that informed me that i am a finalist in the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Art Contest. ----------------------------------->

another day in the ever so boring life...

Well, I started off my amazing and thrilling day with a cup of coffee, fresh breakfast of eggs and bacon, and finishing a good book i was reading. NOT. i wish. Unfortunatly the only part that is true was the cup of coffee, and it was half a mug leftover from my mom's pot of it. After my luxurious non-breakfast and half cup of coffee, i made my way upstairs to work on an unfinished puzzle that distracts me from the stuff i actually should be doing. :) Then my conscience told me to get my lazy butt up and study for my exams tomorrow. Too bad my conscience quit after i took one glance at the outlines. I decided that it would be a perfect opportunity to clean my room!(which my mom has been begging me to do forever)

since then, i have worked on my puzzle, watched some tv, and worked on my puzzle some more. But wait, wasnt i supposed to be studying? Oh ya. Must have forgotten. Oops :)

let it snow, be humid, and 80 degrees in one week...

ahh, fall...how pleasant... NOT. ok well...maybe alittle. But from how the weather has been pleasently changing you'd think it was having problems making up its mind. Its a tug-o-war with summertime and winter!! Luckily I think i see winter pulling out in the final stretch. I woke up this morning and definitly did NOT want to get out of bed. When I did finally edge off the wonderful warm mattress of flannel, my feet sadly reached and were caught off guard by the cold knots of wood. The only thing running through my mind was, "D:" then, "!!!!" then more, "D:" But what else runs through the mind of a sleepy-eyed teenager at 6:30 in the morning?Catching me with a good mood is rare and this picture captures what i feel like about once a year. A guy at school even remarked to me today, "Hey katherine, you look melancholy." Recalling my remark i said, "Ya, I'm usually like that."
O well, I think my melancholy life is starting to show. :D But I believe that if one would like to catch a piece of my happiness, take me to a park, and let me jump around in the leaves. :)

Give thanks :D

thanksgiving is the perfect oppertunity for people to express what they are thankful for. But why just thanksgiving? Why arent people listing things they are thankful of all year? With so many blessings from God, we shouldnt be able to fit all of our blessings into one day. Being hypocritical, im not always thankful and most of the time im just downright ungrateful for the things i have. I forget that kids in other countries dont get a good education, a home, food, and family. So this year, and everyday after that, im going to be thankful for what God gave me. Even if i dont like it at the time.This thanksgiving, i am grateful for so many things and these are my top ten.
1. Jesus-for even considering coming down here to die for me. Doesn't that just make you all warm inside?:D
2. My parents-for dealing with all my stupid problems and being some of my best friends.
3. My sisters-even though most of the time they drive me insane, they have their good moments. :)
4. My friends-for encouraging me and staying with me this year. For being amazing because they enjoy life as much as i do.
5. My art-i have come to realize how amazing it is that i am enabled to draw God's creations with the talent he gave me. And that doesnt even mean drawing jesus, or churches, or saintly scenes, its about me doing what i love for God. and that makes me happy:D
6. Music aka my iPod-man i would die without it. Music = life and another way to express emotions and joy!
7. Books-warm fires,fuzzy blankets, hot chocolate, and a good mystery. Need i say more?
8. Style-clothes, shoes, accesories, express yourself!!! (ha the artist is peeking out)
9. Food!-thats pretty much a given. Italian, Mexican, American, French, Chinese,... I'll eat it all!!
10. My bed-hehe my lazyness very much enjoys my bed. but hey im a teenager!!i can be lazy sometimes if i want!!

Anyways thats what im thankful for this year. and the next, and everyday :D

As i sit here watching "Catch me if you can" my mind wanders back to this week, when my homework was yelling the same thing. After missing a week of school, my homework made a week of it on catching up with me. After three tests, two quizzes, a ten minute presentation, i have finally caught up. All i have to say is "Praise the Lord!" Missing a week at school is not a good idea, and i dont recommend doing it.
Nevertheless, i have survived the week and am getting happier by the day. Hopefully next week will be back to normal.
